Naim Digital Music Dock

Portable MP3 players can be connected temporarily to a NaimNet Music Server by the USB connector on the front panel.

The server will quickly - at a rate of around 100 songs per minute - add the details of the music stored on the portable player to the Server database. So, when searching the Server, a single uniform database is presented, which includes all the playable music on the portable device. Simply select any music on the portable device and the NaimNet Server instantly retrieves the music file and makes it available for playing. Any associated metadata is also made available on the user interface at the same time including cover art, if there was any on the portable player, in the correct format.

When the portable music player is unplugged, the music is no longer available for playback, and the database menus depopulate.
